Seniors & Care Pastor
Position Type: Permanent, part-time (20hrs/week)
Location: 17504 98a Ave NW, Edmonton AB
Position Summary
This position is responsible to minister to the congregation by providing leadership that cultivates a disciple-making culture, with focus among seniors (age 65+), and leadership over our funeral ministry, weddings, West Campus baptism and deeper life ministry.
Role responsibilities:
Seniors Ministry
- Oversee disciple-making and care ministry among senior adults, considering generational shifts.
- Oversee, recruit and coach volunteer teams for senior visits and programming.
- Develop programs that support seniors’ spiritual, emotional, and mental health.
- Evaluate and advance the impact and growth of seniors ministry.
Congregational Life (Weddings, Funerals, Baptism, Deeper Life)
- Support couples preparing for marriage and coordinate pastors and premarital prep.
- Provide pastoral care for grieving families and coordinate or lead funeral services.
- Prepare baptism candidates, ensure understanding of their new life in Christ, and provide clear next steps.
- Recruit and coach volunteer team(s) to facilitate greater healing and wholeness in disciples of Jesus.
General Pastoral Duties
- Minister to the congregation by: performing weddings, baptisms, funerals and administering sacraments.
- Be a visible and accessible leadership presence at weekend services and other community gatherings.
- Provide scheduled POD (Pastor on Duty) support as required.
- Develop and maintain assigned ministry plans and budgets.

- Knowledge of disciple-making in Canadian culture for individual, group, and churchwide strategies.
- Lead ministry through recruiting, equipping, mobilizing, and coaching leaders who lead leaders of leaders.
- Primary spiritual gifts: leadership, shepherding.
- Excels in inspiring leaders, bringing enthusiasm for a shared vision.
- Strong communicator who is comfortable as a public speaker.
- Highly relational and able to coach in an Eph. 4:12 ministry environment.
- Entrepreneurial, with demonstrated ability to develop and implement projects.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in ministry.
- Diploma (2 years min) from a credible Biblical Institution with an emphasis in Theology, Biblical Studies, Missiology, or Christian Ministry, and a heart for ministry.
- Eligible for accreditation with the Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination in Canada.
- Aligned with The Alliance Canada’s statement of faith and Call to Excellence.
- Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada before being hired.
